We have an exciting opportunity at our Production plant in Middlewich, Cheshire for a Mechanical / Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this role will be responsible for completing planned and reactive maintenance of all plant equipment to ensure the required levels of production is achieved, in accordance with GMP, all trade-related legislation and best practice.

This role is 48 hours per week Monday – Thursday, working a regular night shift.

Key responsibilities:

  • Complete planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Contribute efficiency improvements around all areas of the site.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement on site by maintaining a vigilant approach to your work, identifying, and reporting any areas of interest to site management.
  • Complete maintenance documentation/computer entry in line with company procedures.
  • Recommend improvements to the operation of equipment, where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the installation and commissioning of new equipment and plant, where appropriate.
  • Carry out mechanical repairs, during periods of planned production ‘downtime’.

Ensure full compliance with:

  • All relevant electrical and mechanical engineering regulations

  • Continued personal development by keeping up to date with new techniques, processes, and equipment, undertaking training courses and in house training, as required.
  • Maintain your working area and good housekeeping standards.
  • Carry out other duties from time to time that may be reasonably requested.



  • Recognised Apprenticeship/Engineering qualification, BTEC, HNC, or equivalent experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance (Level 3 minimum)
  • Knowledge of Motors, Inverter Drives, Electrical panels.
  • Competency with hydraulic systems
  • Competency with ‘hot working’


  • Demonstratable problem solving abilities and Quality awareness
  • Confident in using computer-based maintenance systems.


  • Material Handling Systems, Bucket Elevators, Belt Conveyors, Screws, Diverters etc.
  • Demonstratable ability in Mechanical Testing, fault finding, installation & inspection.
  • Familiar with PLC systems
