Lay-Lite lightweight foundation blocks

Lay-Lite lightweight foundation blocks

CCP foundation blocks offer the specifier a product that is durable, efficient and very cost effective. Having CCP foundation blocks on site means that time delays due to the non-arrival of wet mixes are a thing of the past.

All of our foundation blocks are low carbon as standard - up to an 50% carbon reduction compared with using OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement).

What are foundation blocks used for?

Foundation blocks are specifically designed to be used below the DPC and are used to construct a base capable of supporting solid and cavity walls, as well as supporting framed buildings and beam and block floors. They are suitable for supporting 3 storey structures.

What are the advantages of foundation blocks?

CCP foundation blocks are easier to form within a trench rather than two skins of other blocks and eliminate the need to fill cavities.

They have excellent resistance to freeze/thaw and sulphate attack and are suitable in DS1 ground conditions.

Our foundation blocks also offer a useful level of thermal performance

They are available in two compressive strengths 7.3 N/mm2 and 10.4 N/mm2.

Lay-Lite foundation blocks are produced using responsibly sourced and sustainable high-quality sands and aggregates.

Getting the best from CCP foundation blocks

CCP recommend that aggregate blocks should not be laid in temperatures below 3° Celsius, and when being laid below ground level, a general-purpose mortar containing 1:1:5-6 cement: lime: sand (or equivalent) should be used.

It is recommended the foundation blocks should not be left exposed.

We offer two sizes of foundation blocks. 300mm x 215mm  x 215mm (l x h x w) and 350mm x 250mm x 140mm Can be laid either 350mm or 250mm wall thickness. In both sizes we have compressive strengths of 7.3 and 10.4 N/mm2.

Our foundation blocks comply with EN1996-1 Group 1 Manufacturing Standard BS EN 771-3:2011
