CCP Building Products are very pleased to announce that we will be partnering with Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices as our charity partner until the end of 2024.

Hope House Children’s Hospices provide support to over 750 families living in Shropshire, Cheshire, Mid and North Wales who are caring for a terminally ill child or who have experienced the death of a child.

Hope House was originally opened in 1995 at Morda, near Oswestry and was only the tenth children’s hospice in the entire world, at that time supporting 80 families. With eight children’s bedrooms and further rooms for up to five families to accompany them, it also offers a multi-sensory room and hydrotherapy pool. In 2004 a second hospice, Tŷ Gobaith, was opened just outside Conwy in North Wales, with four children’s bedrooms and three family rooms. It also has a multi-sensory room and is very sensitive to the needs of the local population, who mostly speak Welsh as their first language.

Both hospices offer palliative care for babies, children and young people with life-threatening conditions who are not expected to live beyond 18 years of age. They also offer counselling and bereavement support from professionally trained counsellors to any family living in the area whose child has died under any circumstance.

The hospices offer other valuable services including respite care for families, providing them with a much needed break from the day-to-day caring routine and sibling support, where their sibling support team offer fun and support to the brothers and sisters of children using either Hope House or Tŷ Gobaith. This includes activity days and outings where siblings can share their concerns and experiences of living with a brother or sister with a life-threatening condition.

End of Life Care and Immediate Care After Death are also an essential part of the service offered by the Hospices, which not only helps to provide the most appropriate care and symptom management for the child or young person but offers essential support for family members and carers, to plan for this difficult time and help to meet their wishes.

As a business, we fully understand how important it is to give and receive support within our local and surrounding areas and, by supporting a locally based charity, we are able to do much more than simply donate money. CCP can contribute in many different ways such as attending organised events, volunteering or sponsoring our own organised events.

We are very proud to be a local employer, who has supplied aggregates and concrete blocks throughout the Northwest and North Wales for over 60 years. Supporting a charity that provides such an important service to families in the area, during a very challenging and vulnerable period of their lives, really helps us to connect with the community, individuals and groups around us enabling us to give something back.

Over the coming weeks, we will be coming up with lots of ideas and different ways to actively fundraise for the charity, with a series of events and activities that will span the remainder of 2023 and the whole of 2024. Our aim is to create opportunities that everyone can engage with and offer their support to the Hope House Hospices.
